The Four Of Us (Working Title)
The magnificent four awoke to a glorious morning the sun high above was blood orange surrounded by patchy clouds with a ting of scarlet. The kind of scene that stirs the most prosaic person to discover a deeply buried urge to converse with canvas. There was a faint scent of Lavender wafting around, the air was already fairly warm and it had barely gone nine. They had arrived a little after ten the following night to a very relieved but happy Nicole, a full hour after their scheduled arrival time due to an unplanned detour and the lack of a mobile signal made it impossible to contact Nicole or Leon to inform them that they had gotten slightly lost. The four had a healthy breakfast of mushroom and spinach quiches followed by grandes cremes. The appetizing meal was prepared by Nicole and tastefully laid out on a white wooden table with blue chairs on the tiled terrace which over looked the vineyards all three hectares of it giving way to the hills in the distance.
This is taken from the novel I’m writing, it’s my first attempt at a full length story. After shelving it for 6 months the creative juices began to stir once more. Last weekend I wrote another chapter.
